Soil + Compost Testing Services
Options for quick checks before you make any decisions, or a thorough assessment that gives you the numbers behind what’s in your soil or the compost you want to use.
Discount on quantities of 3 or more assessments
Quantitative Biological Assessment ($100)
Best for testing compost (or compost extract or tea) or soil if you want to be certain about your fungal to bacterial (F:B) ratios, which have been proven to result in maximum health and pest/disease resistance for most crops and later successional plants and trees.
Qualitative Biological Assessment ($50)
Best value for quick checks of soil, compost, or foliage to determine whether beneficial, facultative, or pathogenic life is present. These assessments can often provide enough of a snapshot/story to determine whether or not your F:B ratio is in good shape and you have adequate healthy microbial predators in your system to support nutrient cycling.

I conduct small workshops and presentations on Soil Food Web theory and the corresponding scientific principles behind thermophilic composting, along with associated best practices. There are many good composting methods, but not all composts are equal!
